Service outages and closures for maintenance work or for emergency reasons on Metro are unfortunate but unavoidable. A system of service notices for closures and detours were developed to help customers understand the disruption and what are their alternate travel options. A templated sign design is used along with prescriptive and succinct text and information to communicate this to the customer.
